Hi. My name is Christy. I'm a Wife, Mother of Two children (Boy who is 12, and a Daughter that is 21. I Have a wonderful Son-in-law and He and my Daughter are giving me my first Grand-Daughter, this July. I'm SOOOOOOO excited about being a Grandma!
I grew up the Daughter of a Dog Groomer. I started working in my Mother's Shop when I was 10 years old; after school, weekends, and summer vacations. It wasn't "FUN" at the time, but I learned a lot! I've tried several other things, but have always come back to grooming dogs. I have been a professional dog Groomer, and FORMER dog breeder, for over 30 years. Five of those years were on the Dog Show circuit. Needless to say, I have a TON of experience in the Dog world.
Ask me anything??? I would be HAPPY to answer your questions about; Specific Breeds BEHAVIOR and characteristics, General HEALTH (I am in NO WAY claiming to be a Vet. I have NO formal Medical training, but will offer "friendly" life educated advice), or what kind of haircut you might like for your pet. Ive been known to SAVE people LOTS of Money, because I really enjoy helping people get the MOST out of, and BEST Possible, relationship with their pets.
WARNING!! I will ALWAYS give you TRUTHFUL, as I see it, advice for your questions! Sometimes you won't like it, but it WILL BE THE TRUTH!!
And away we GOOOOOOO...
Excellent start! You are now a media personality. It may take a few weeks, but people will begin to notice. Talk about the pros and cons of individual breeds (1 breed/post). Talk about what goes on behind the scenes at dog shows. Crazy owners. Crazy handlers. You must have a million stories. Tried and true 'home remedies' for common complaints. Review articles from actual dog magazines and critique them from your own stand point. then tweet about your blog. Give teasers as to what's in it amd ALWAYS include your link. Talk it up in stores and businesses around your way, maybe put little posters in the windows or even take out a low cost ad in neighborhood classified paper in the pets section. "Brand' yourself as 'the dog lady'. some bloggers even put their link on a tee shirt and wear it around. It will be as big as YOU want it to be. Hit other peoples' blogs (they will tell you how to sign in. it is very simple, plus you get to leave your link there too)....HAVE FUN!!!
